Pediatric colorectal scientific meeting

The Pediatric Colorectal Scientific Meeting is a new conference that brings together national pediatric experts to discuss the latest research and innovative treatments for rare conditions such as anorectal malformations and associated anomalies, Hirschsprung's disease, rectal prolapse, motility disorders, and fecal incontinence.

Learning Goals:

  • To understand the complexities of caring for children with colorectal and pelvic disorders and the necessity of multidisciplinary collaboration.

  • To identify opportunities for quality improvement within participants’ personal practices.

  • To recognize the importance of long-term follow-up care in pediatric colorectal and pelvic disorders.

  • To discuss the current state of the art in research, define future research agendas, and delineate collaborative multidisciplinary research efforts in pediatric colorectal diseases.

David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, Masters of Healthcare Administration program. Recently retired Chief Quality Officer and Executive Director of the Institute for Health Care Delivery at Intermountain Healthcare.

Topic: Clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and the infrastructure that underlies successful improvement efforts, such as culture change, data systems, payment methods and management roles.

Abstract Submissions

We are currently considering abstracts for presentations at the 2019 conference. Possible topics include: anorectal malformations, congenital urologic and gynecologic anomalies, Hirschsprung’s disease, lower gastrointestinal motility disorders, surgical inflammatory bowel disease and quality improvement.

  • Authors who have abstracts accepted for oral presentation will be invited to submit a manuscript for review.

  • Submitted manuscripts will be considered for publication in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery.

  • Abstract submission deadline has been extended to March 15, 2019.

  • Authors will be notified in April 2019 regarding the status of their submitted abstract.

The 2019 Pediatric Colorectal Scientific Meeting will be held at the Blair Education Center at Park City Hospital. The Blair Education Center is a state-of-the-art conference facility in a beautiful setting, conveniently located:
